Duplicate Line Remover: Delete Repeated Lines Instantly (Free)
Lists collect duplicates. Merge two email lists and you've got repeats. Export a log, a CSV column, or a set of URLs and the same line shows up a dozen times. Finding and deleting duplicates by hand is miserable and error-prone. A duplicate line remover does it in one click. Here's how to use one and the options that matter.
What it does
It takes your text, treats each line as an entry, and removes the repeats — keeping the first occurrence of each unique line and dropping the rest. The free Duplicate Line Remover:
- Open it — no signup.
- Paste your list, one item per line.
- It removes duplicate lines, keeping the first of each.
- Optionally sort the result alphabetically.
- Copy the clean, de-duplicated list.
It runs in your browser, so lists that contain private data — emails, customer records, internal URLs — never leave your device.
Where it saves you
- Cleaning email or contact lists — removing repeats before a send or import.
- De-duplicating data — a CSV column, a set of IDs, a list of URLs.
- Logs — collapsing repeated log lines to see the distinct events.
- Keyword and tag lists — getting a unique set before using them.
- Merging sources — combining two lists and stripping the overlap.
"Keep first" + optional sort
Two small choices make this tool flexible. Keeping the first occurrence preserves your original order where that matters (the first time something appeared). Optional sorting is for when order doesn't matter and you'd rather have a clean alphabetical set. Together they cover both "de-dupe but keep my sequence" and "give me a tidy unique list" — the two things you actually want.
A privacy note
De-duplicating is something you often do with sensitive lists — customer emails, account IDs, internal data. A tool that processes everything in your browser and uploads nothing is the right choice for that; the work is trivial to do locally, so there's no reason to send your list to a server.
Common questions
Which duplicate does it keep? The first occurrence of each line; later repeats are removed.
Can it sort the result? Yes — sorting is optional, so you can keep your original order or get an alphabetical unique list.
Is my list private? Yes — it runs entirely in your browser and uploads nothing.
